build times doubled moving from 2.0.8 to 2.0.9
Using the following targets, my total build time has doubled between
maven 2.0.8 and 2.0.9:
release:clean clean release:prepare release:perform --batch-mode
Am I the only one? Any ideas?

As it turns out this was an unfortunate convergence of our mount point
becoming 95% full at the same time we upgraded to 2.0.9 on a host that
we could not isolate for performance testing. Maven is great!

Doubled in what context? 30 seconds to 1 minute or 30 minutes to 1 hour?
The plugins in 2.0.9 have default versions now, if you haven't locked
down your versions, then you potentially also upgraded several plugins
at the same time. One of those could be the culprit. I wrote about this
aspect of 2.0.9 yesterday:

Are you only seeing this when doing a release? This could be a few
things: the release plugin or the plugins introduced by the release
profile (sources, javadoc).
