Yeah, it's more like truncate operation. 
We already have record level deletes via deltastreamer by setting _hoodie_is_deleted. Take a look at https://hudi.apache.org/docs/writing_data.html#deletes

Perhaps the schema change can be handled automatically. However, that can be taken as a separate task.
