[jira] [Created] (YARN-8540) Rethink for storing app name as flowname if flow context tags are not provided

Rohith Sharma K S created YARN-8540:
---------------------------------------

Summary: Rethink for storing app name as flowname if flow context tags are not provided
                 Key: YARN-8540
                 URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/YARN-8540
             Project: Hadoop YARN
          Issue Type: Bug
            Reporter: Rohith Sharma K S

Majority of applications submitted to YARN are NOT set flow context information in application tags. By default, if tags are not provided then app name is considered as flow name.

In many applications it is seen that app name is very huge. Like Hive Oozie Tez sets app name as query name. This could be a potential issue which could exceeds supported character length in ATSv2 backend.
