Looks like an user error, and currently I can't see much benefit of such a
feature. Nobody needs the "Before" situation in reporter's screenshot, and the
"After" situation is default for AOO ("Format -< Legend -> Position -> Left'
avoids overlaping.

@slacka:
Please attach an Excel document what causes problems when you open it in AOO or
contribute a step by step instruction how to create an AOO document from the
scratch and in what cases such a feature might be useful.
