 Pokiaľ si chcete vyskúšať nové (ešte neuvoľnené) verzie Apache OpenOffice, môžete vyskúšať testovacie buildy. To, že sa jedná o vývojové verzie neznamená, že nefungujú správne alebo majú len čiastočnú funkcionalitu, práve naopak, väščina z nich je plne funkčná a zhŕňajú najnovšie vyvíjané funkcie, najväčší rozdiel je v tom že neboli dôkladne testované a ich požívanie tam, kde je potrebná 100% spoľahlivosť sa neodporúča.
