           Summary: javadoc <tag> element: mixing custom and standard tags
           Product: Ant
           Version: 1.7.0
          Platform: Other
        OS/Version: Windows 2000
            Status: NEW
          Severity: normal
          Priority: P2
         Component: Core tasks
        AssignedTo: dev@ant.apache.org
        ReportedBy: andre.fuegenschuh@gmx.de

With ant 1.6.* I followed the recommendations for the <tag> element *not* to add
a description for standard tags for to achieve a special sort order when mixing
them with custom tags. Worked fine.

With ant 1.7.0 (and Java 6 doclet) the sort order remains but the standard tags
are all *lowercase*.

I added a description to the standard tags (against the recommendation) - and it
works.

So, if this is the desired behaviour (?), the documentation for the nested <tag>
element needs to be updated.

Thanks for the report.
This was caused by a fix for bugzilla 32927.

Target output is:

Note: Custom tags that override standard tags: @author, @see, @since, @version

------- Additional Comments From andre.fuegenschuh@gmx.de  2006-12-30 20:07 -------
Revision:
The described procedure (s. a.) won't help with e. g. the @see tag which doesn't
generate links any more!

Example:

<tag name=".foo" scope="..." description="My Custom Tag"/>
<tag name="author"/>
<tag name="version"/>
<tag name=".bar" scope="..." description="My Next Custom Tag"/>
<tag name="see"/>
...

works fine with Ant 1.6.*.

Yet, the tag name is *lowercase* and - more important - the @see tag doesn't
generate links any more!
So, it looks like, this is really a *bug* concerning the use of a tag's 'code'
name vs. its 'displayed' name.
