Dear Lenya Developers,
I know you are busy preparing for 1.2 to take off, but I started to hack
a small feature into Lenya which addresses reusable assets like links or
images.
I'm often in the need to reuse link resources or images and I don't want
to care about the href, language, label or title. I'm thinking of a
centralized asset store. The assets in that store could be referenced
within xml docs by appropiate tags.
Imagine a document using markup like this:
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
<html
xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml"
xmlns:dc="http://purl.org/dc/elements/1.1/"
xmlns:lenya="http://apache.org/cocoon/lenya/page-envelope/1.0"
xmlns:asset="http://apache.org/cocoon/lenya/asset/1.0"
>
<body>
<p>Hello, the <asset:ref-link id="w3"/> is leading the Web to its full
potential.</p>
</body>
</html>
The <asset:ref-link> tag will be transformed to a normal <a> tag by a
xsl file called asset2xhtml which is triggered by
publication-sitemap.xconf. From this point on, link management could be
quite easy maintained by a asset manager.....
Attached you will find an example asset store and a modified
publication-sitemap.xmap.
It would be interesting for me, what you think about an asset store like
pointed out above.
NOTE: The attached files and the code in here is less then draft!
