    [ https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/DIRSTUDIO-957?page=com.atlassian.jira.plugin.system.issuetabpanels:comment-tabpanel&focusedCommentId=17275720#comment-17275720 ]

Stefan Seelmann commented on DIRSTUDIO-957:
-------------------------------------------

I still can't reproduce it. We now also have tests that start/stop/restart the server, and they run on Linux, Windows, and macOS. did you try with the latest Studio version?

> Cannot stop server from Studio: Terminate failed
> ------------------------------------------------
>
> Key: DIRSTUDIO-957
> URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/DIRSTUDIO-957
> Project: Directory Studio
> Issue Type: Bug
> Components: studio-ldapservers
> Affects Versions: 2.0.0-M8 (2.0.0.v20130628)
> Environment: KDE/Ubuntu 64bit, Java 1.7.0_45-b18, Studio 2.0.0.v20130628
> Reporter: Piotr Kubowicz
> Priority: Major
>
> To reproduce:
> 1. start the Studio
> 2. choose LDAP Servers tab, click 'add sever' button, choose 'ApacheDS 2.0.0'
> 3. start the server using the green 'start' button
> 4. stop the server using the red 'stop' button
> 5. a message appears:
> Unable to stop server 'schematest'
> - Terminate failed
> org.eclipse.debug.core.DebugException: Terminate failed
> at org.eclipse.debug.core.Launch.terminate(Launch.java:263)
> at org.apache.directory.studio.ldapservers.LdapServersUtils.terminateLaunchConfiguration(LdapServersUtils.java:358)
> at org.apache.directory.studio.ldapservers.apacheds.v200.ApacheDS200LdapServerAdapter.stop(ApacheDS200LdapServerAdapter.java:306)
> at org.apache.directory.studio.ldapservers.jobs.StopLdapServerRunnable.run(StopLdapServerRunnable.java:106)
> at org.apache.directory.studio.common.core.jobs.StudioJob.run(StudioJob.java:83)
> at org.eclipse.core.internal.jobs.Worker.run(Worker.java:54)
> Terminate failed
> 6. start the server again
> 7. try to connect to it - error appears: 'Cannot connect on the server: Connection refused'
> You won't be able to start this server until you restart the Studio. It's quite a waste of time, because the Studio start takes really long.
