   We do support ingesting data from databases using SQLInputSource. If someone builds a presto connector by extending SQLInputSource, then we can insert data via presto queries too. Technically AFAIK Presto and Hive are only the execution engines, so we might has well poin the druid SQL insert to the sources directly.
