Simone, you comment on " All distributions have both and are keeping both if there is some software still using 1.x, otherwise everybody wants to move on." is not true.  Both Opensuse and Suse Enterprise have moved onto freeRDP 2.0.0 and no longer have the older one in the repos.  If they are outliers they are still right there next to Redhat and Ubuntu as industry used linux distributions.
