How would the mailing list changes impact our subscribers?

Hi,

I just noticed that the addresses for our mailing list have been changed as part of the TLP migration. The new ids are:

Dev: dev@tuscany.apache.org
User: user@tuscany.apache.org
Commits: commits@tuscany.apache.org

Are there impacts on the existing subscribers? I think existing subscribers will receive e-mails from the new addresses without any actions. What if somebody sends an e-mail to the old address?

Thanks,
Raymond

The old archives [1] are still in the process of being migrated to its
new location [2].
I'm not sure how the other archives, external to Apache, would work.

You're over-simplifying the impact of the change. For example, I read
this list as news, via gmane.org. There the last message on this list
was posted on 17th June. I've submitted a request to update it, but even
when that happens, many messages will have been lost.

Looks like the archive has cut over from
http://mail-archives.apache.org/mod_mbox/ws-tuscany-dev/ to
http://mail-archives.apache.org/mod_mbox/tuscany-dev/. Everything is
there, but the history is now in two distinct places, so searching will
be more difficult.

I don't know how many other places the list is archived, but each of
them will potentially need some individual attention, as they are likely
to have gone dead. Even regular list users probably have mail filters
that they will need to modify.

This should be totally transparent for the users, as the migration
process takes care of migrating the users as subscribed to the new
list address and the old list address will continue to work.

It's probably good practice to start using the new e-mail address for
new threads.

I have created TUSCANY-2401 to track and update website with all these changes.

All my mails were bounced back yesterday, while using the old user mailing list (some sort of SPF control).

Today as you have been able to see, I successfully sent using the new user mailing list.
