Hi All,
Currently we are developing APIs for self service app (
https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/FINERACT-628), and as part of this we
have already added few APIs for Loan, Savings and Share Accounts management.
Now we are working on adding guarantors screen for self service user and we
are not completely sure about whether this functionality should be exposed
to self service user or not. It will be really helpful if we understand the
existing requirement of the industry to proceed.
So kindly let us know your view on this.

Dear Shruthi,
By allowing that, it means Self-Service User need to access existing Clients list... to some extent we need to be carefully to privacy! I believe this is unnecessary the benefit doesn't out-way the confidentiality!!!

Separating the API from the consumption use case (self service vs staff) is important in my opinion, i.e. the API should always exist as a means to manage the data, but a self service UI implementation may choose to not expose it to a customer. However, different institutions may chose to use the API in non self service use cases (staff UIs, workflow systems, broker channels etc.)

Adding new guarantor or creating new guarantor should be done by bank
staff rather than client(self service user). But I agree that Client may be
able to view the loans/clients and amount he/she guaranteed.
