Closing Gadgets

I have an overall idea of how I might add gadgets to a screen based on
user name and how I might allow users to add more gadgets to their
'dashboard' using a drop down list, but how would one go about adding an
'x' on the gadgets like on the igoogle page to close out of the gadgets?
If they hit this 'x' it would send a destroy command which would in turn
wipe that line from the database which stores the users info.  Thanks in
