Velocity and PDFs
Hi,
has anyone used Velocity to generate a PDF?
Or knows a tool that is plugable to velocity? ;)
Thanks,
Matthias

I have been lurking on the list for a while; hello all.

In answer to your question, I have used Velocity as *part* of a solution to
generate PDF's.
I had a requirement to produce dynamic reports in pdf format, and chose to
use the Report Library from Big Faceless Org
(http://big.faceless.org/products/report/index.jsp) - commercial I'm afraid.
Velocity generates XML which the big faceless report generator parses to
produce PDF's.
I used Velocity because a lot of the content was dynamic; also the
application needed to run both standalone, and in a servlet container.

I don't know of any specific tools that are part of the tools project,
someone else may be able to enlighten you on that. I would say that I was
pleased with the BFO product.
