Re: Jmeter basics please

Hi,

Your first mail said you want to know how to run performance tests on
JMeter.

So is this what you want to do?

1. Check what is the time a web page is being served by the web server
2. Check how the web server will behave if suddenly 1000 users called the
same page
3. Check when the server may fail to respond, on how many concurrent users
if that case ever exists
4. Check if a web page returns always the same content, daily for regression
testing

If any one of the above points is your objective then JMeter can help you.

with regards
Tushar

That's a huge topic about which many books have been written :) which you'd
have to approach first independent of JMeter in terms of what scripts you
want to write and what you want to measure, after which you have to work
with what JMeter supports and what it doesn't
I dont really think i can answer this in any detail that you are probably
looking for - youll probably need to use a lot of Google.

I wrote up a few thoughts a while back here

Then decide which type of performance test you want to run. Then we can
