When I paste text copied from any source other than OO into a writer doc, OO
immediatly crashes, goes into document recovery but does not recover the
document. After I "refreshed" my profile as per instructions, I can paste OK,
but now OO crashes on it's own after 30 or 40 seconds, no matter if I do
anything or not. I have also turned off automatic updates but it didn't help. I
have OO on 2 PCs and they both act the same way.

Does it crash when you paste from any web page, or just some?  Are you pasting
text or a picture?

I attempted to reproduce the defect you reported but was unsuccessful. I tested
the following scenario:

1) AOO 3.4.1 on Windows 7.  

2) Opened Writer

3) Opened Firefox and loaded a webpage containing text and graphics: 
https://blogs.apache.org/OOo/entry/openoffice_and_odf

4) Control-A to select the entire webpage, Control-C to copy, then Control-V to
paste into Writer

Results:  page was copied, no crash.

I'm marking this issue as RESOLVED/IRREPRODUCIBLE. If we receive more
information on how to reproduce the issue, we can reopen.  For example, details
on what browser and website was causing the issue might help.

I see now that this copy problem seems to only come up when I copy text from a
web page.
