[jira] Created: (JS2-344) PHP 5 support

PHP 5 support
-------------

         Key: JS2-344
         URL: http://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/JS2-344
     Project: Jetspeed 2
        Type: Wish
    Versions: 2.0-M1, 2.0-FINAL, 2.0-M2, 2.0-M3, 2.0-M4
 Environment: any
    Reporter: Jacek Wislicki

phpportlet(-1.0).jar points at PHP 4 libraries and PHP portlets wouldn't work with PHP 5. Preferably, a solution for JS2-293 and licencsing the package source would be the best solution :)

[jira] Closed: (JS2-344) PHP 5 support

Posted by "Roger Ruttimann (JIRA)" <je...@portals.apache.org>.

Roger Ruttimann closed JS2-344.
-------------------------------

    Resolution: Fixed

To make it work with PHP 5 just re-compile php portlet using the source from

http://www.bluesunrise.com/jetspeed-2/bridges/php/src/source-php-portlet-5.0.4.tar.gz

Note:

PHP4 style applications run fine in the php-portlet but PHP5 applications using the new PHP 5 objects frequently crash the servlet container. The issues are the incompatible garbage collectors (php and java)
