This issue is holding up a project I'm working on. While we can use a fork with support for doc I'd much prefer to stay with the core project. I'm happy to write the code to resolve this issue, and I'm actively working on a GitHub PR with proper unit tests and formatting. First PR to this project to feel free to let me know if I'm going about anything incorrectly.
