[jira] [Commented] (KYLIN-1542) Hfile owner is not hbase

    [ https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/KYLIN-1542?page=com.atlassian.jira.plugin.system.issuetabpanels:comment-tabpanel&focusedCommentId=15219450#comment-15219450 ]

hongbin ma commented on KYLIN-1542:
-----------------------------------

To justify the requirement I think we need to first answer why compaction is required? Kylin's cube hfile are thoroughly partitioned and readonly, so normally it's not necessary to compact it. The only case I can think of is to run major compaction to gain data locality for each region server. Did you manually trigger the compaction? can you share your scenario?

> The Hfiles are bulkloaded into target HDFS location by the current account.
> And the Hfiles permission are 644.
> When Hbase do compaction do archive the hfiles, hbase will report error due to lack of permission.
