This error is caused by JDK 8 removed old sun's APT implementation. I managed to get ride of that error by force maven to JAXB 2.2.6.  But I got the schema generate issue after that.

I also tried to use org.codehaus.mojo:jaxb2-maven-plugin to generate the schema, but it looks like this plugin cannot load the file from custom directory.
