The Big Data Sys Admin you will be responsible for building, launching and supporting the Hadoop platform, including infrastructure planning, scaling and administration.  You must have operational expertise in installing, running and maintaining Hadoop and have built a Hadoop cluster before. Experience with hive, scoop and flume required and Solr is preferred. Provides day to day operational support of a Hadoop cluster including;



* Building Hadoop platforms

* Hands on experience with the Hadoop stack (Hive, Scoop and Flume)

* Knowledge of NoSQL platforms

* Must be ops centric with a systems and architecture orientation

* Hadoop Cluster capacity planning and maintenance

* Adding and removing cluster nodes

* Cluster Monitoring and Troubleshooting

* Monitor and review Hadoop log files

* Hive, Scoop and Flume

* Solr would be a big plus

*Strong scripting expertise including BASH, PHP, PERL, Java script and  UNIX Shell



D2D: This person will be working with the Cloud Services Group within a large Networking company in San Jose, Ca.  Your responsibilities will include building, launching and supporting the Hadoop platform, including infrastructure planning, scaling and administration. On top of that, you will also be in charge of some operational duties including installing, running and maintaining Hadoop, so having experience building a Hadoop cluster is highly important.  This position is with a well-funded team within a large organization who are working with top of the line equipment.  Joining this team, you will be working with some of the brightest individuals in the Silicon Valley, working on some life changing products.
