This happened again, with PostgreSQL as the back end. Here's the trace:

Once again, "2" is STATUS_COMPLETE. So PostgreSQL runs are behaving very consistently with respect to this issue.
I've asked the user to turn on diagnostic debugging in hopes that it happens again sometime soon.
