how do i generating POM in maven 2.0.7??

hi all
am beginner to maven 2.0.7
earlier i was sticking to maven 1.x .
i can generate project .xml  using  cmd "  'maven genapp'
but  now i wann to use maven 2.0.7 .
Q1)
how can  i generate pom.xml using maven 2.0.7 .

Q2) in maven 1.x i can create my goals in maven.xml . how can i do the same
using  maven 2.x 
plz help me ..
