[jira] Commented: (DIRSTUDIO-415) Add a XML tab for the server configuration

Felix Knecht commented on DIRSTUDIO-415:

It think this will have major impacts.
- When having an XML tab IMO it makes only sense when also using a XML editor (not only text editor), which is able to validate against schemas. Which editor can be used for this? I thing there is one in the WebTools project [1] -> blow up the dist with the included WebTools and configure WebTools as mandatory dependency when installing as plugin.
Do exist other XML editors in eclipse we could use?
- Processing of editing needs definitly be rewritten/designed do make us of a dom (or simular). See also [2]

> atm, we have many tabs to manipulate the server configuration, but no XML tab. it would be better if we could see the server.xml as a simple text file (and we should be able to edit it of course :)
