Shit, i'm sorry man i totally droped the ball on this.

i haven't looked at your latest patch, but catching up on the comments you general API compatibility approach sounds fine to me -- you may want to follow up with Adrien or Yonik to sanity check your decay code, because i didn't fully understand what you guys were talking about the first time it came up.
