Is Anyone Available to Help with Pivot's Retirement?

Hi,

The board passed a resolution to retire Pivot and move it to the Attic at
the last board meeting. Are any of the Pivot developers available to help
with the retirement process?

The following JIRA has been created to manage the retirement tasks and any
help would be appreciated by the Attic team:
    https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/ATTIC-228

I also created the following JIRA (with patch) to remove Google Analytics
from the Pivot Website (as per ASF Privacy Policy). It would also be really
good if someone could commit the patch before the retirement process is
completed:
    https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/PIVOT-1067

Thanks

Niall

Posted by Niall Pemberton <ni...@gmail.com>.
Hi Sandro,

Many thanks for applying the patch.

I re-scanned your website and found three files that were missed that still
contain Google Analytics (sorry about that) - I've attached a patch to the
JIRA to remove them. Would you also be able to apply that?

    https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/PIVOT-1067

Thanks

Niall

Re: Is Anyone Available to Help with Pivot's Retirement?

Posted by Sandro Martini <sa...@gmail.com>.
Hi all,
sorry I didn't look at the email for some days ...

I was sure to have the Google Analytics part already removed from the Pivot
web site years ago, but probably I'm wrong, sorry for that.

Roger:
the problem in generation of release binary artifacts was in one of the
build tasks related to code checks, so I agree it is something that could
be removed, but I received no feedback on that since a long time; anyway
whatever decision we take release had to be built using provided build info.

Regards,
Sandro

AIUI the board has terminated the Pivot PMC, so don’t think there can be
any further releases - but I’m not part of the Attic team, so you could ask
them (general@attic.apache.org) or the board. Also I believe release
artifacts are deleted from the download area after moving to the Attic.

Would you be able to commit the patch I attached to PIVOT-1067 to remove
Google Analytics from the Pivot website?

I’d still really like to get the final release build done. The failing tests don’t matter IMO — artifacts of the build environment, not the code.

Hi,

The board passed a resolution to retire Pivot and move it to the Attic at
the last board meeting. Are any of the Pivot developers available to help
with the retirement process?

The following JIRA has been created to manage the retirement tasks and any
help would be appreciated by the Attic team:
    https://urldefense.proofpoint.com/v2/url?u=https-3A__issues.apache.org_jira_browse_ATTIC-2D228&d=DwICaQ&c=euGZstcaTDllvimEN8b7jXrwqOf-v5A_CdpgnVfiiMM&r=NGXYnxeSiI_cX848yMIhm_nxVirU2qvwSBiomy8msDM&m=UJV6-PfgFkohA9BHRU47H4QF5x2FOPKuy7hty2pPFzuCnzdRTWC-_ByIXBfv8AQV&s=UkrPAmD-Q5fSLZ-hkEjuRc6Sbg8gZ4pWKWLGEz5Qimk&e=

I also created the following JIRA (with patch) to remove Google Analytics
from the Pivot Website (as per ASF Privacy Policy). It would also be really
good if someone could commit the patch before the retirement process is
completed:
    https://urldefense.proofpoint.com/v2/url?u=https-3A__issues.apache.org_jira_browse_PIVOT-2D1067&d=DwICaQ&c=euGZstcaTDllvimEN8b7jXrwqOf-v5A_CdpgnVfiiMM&r=NGXYnxeSiI_cX848yMIhm_nxVirU2qvwSBiomy8msDM&m=UJV6-PfgFkohA9BHRU47H4QF5x2FOPKuy7hty2pPFzuCnzdRTWC-_ByIXBfv8AQV&s=YH5yU-3ElL_fskOj3OAs5nXI5C3JQ6hn82dleNMiN34&e=

Thanks
