startAnt doesnt invoke System.exit, it invokes Main.exit(), which then invokes
System.exit..Main.exit there to be overridden. Ant 1.7 even lets you specify a
new entry point on the command line, for such a purpose.

propose marking as worksforme, unless you can highlight some problem with
overriding Main.exit()
