   Was spelunking in ZK-related code pertaining to table configuration and found the whole ZK "convenience" utilities scattered throughout our code base to be a mess. This is a first pass attempt to clean up quite a bit of the technical debt around ZooKeeper... but I'm sure there's more follow-on to be done.
