Just a point of note....   this can occur with CXF 2.6.x at the EARLIEST.   CXF 2.5.x and earlier still have plans to support Java 5.  Jetty 8.x has dropped support for Java 5 and thus we cannot grab those versions at this point.   When CXF drops support for Java5, we can consider this.
