Xerces-c++ XML parser and the AS/400...

Hi!
And Happy Holidays!

I have an application that uses the Xerces C++ XML parser.  The application
is designed to run on both NT (complied using Visual Studio) and the AS/400
(complied using IBM's Visual Age for C++).
When reading XML formatted data on the NT platform, every thing is working
fine.
When reading the same data on the AS/400, the getFirstChild() api is
failing to find the root of the XML data.

Is there anything I need to do for the XML parser to work correctly on the
AS/400? Are there any translation issues I should be aware of?
Has anyone else had these sorts of issues?
