M6

I'd like to propose that we cut M6 this weekend. Lots of good stuff
that should be exposed to users.

Ok, this is done now.

I am all for it. Here is some caveats:

1. I need to finish the docs migration per CAY-1221. Which I will
hopefully do before the weekend.

2. The Modeler keeps blowing on me per CAY-1222. Didn't have time to
look at this yet. Maybe someone else has cycles this week?

3. Schema update strategy code keeps evolving per CAY-1193. Still
except for the "SkipSchemaUpdateStrategy" (current behavior), it
requires more testing. Since it is visible in the Modeler, this can
generate a flood of bug reports. This is not necessarily a show
stopper for a milestone release (repeat open source mantra - release
often, release early). Just something to keep in mind.

Ok, I've spent some time fixing various small assembly issues and
setting up my own Windows environment for Cayenne builds. Now I think
I am almost ready to post the artifacts, which I will probably do
tomorrow. Stay tuned.

(Ari, please note that I moved schema folder in a subdirectory. You
will likely need to update your site sync script).

I think so. And we even have the schema docs all pretty on our web
site: http://cayenne.apache.org/schema/3.0/modelMap.html The schema
path points to a path on my local machine, but I can fix that any time
and this release need not be held up.

Ok, I am done with the last 2 tasks. Ari just moved the XSD docs (and
CAY-1167 is already in RELEASE-NOTES.txt). So are we ready to go?

Good point.

CAY-1167: Ari can probably close it once we figure the docs location
per parallel discussion thread.

CAY-1222: Andrey, thanks for adding the range check. I also can't
reproduce it consistently. It happens once every couple of days. So
looks like a race condition somewhere. So I'll close the Jira and
reopen it if it pops up again.

CAY-1151: Looking at this now.

I am holding on the tag until all of these are closed (or rescheduled).

Hi,

There're still some issues marked for M6 left open [1]. Shouldn't they be
fixed or assigned to later versions first?

I should have a bit of time today and tomorrow. My plan is to finish
analyzing/applying some remaining patches, do a preliminary cross DB
test, and then create a release tag.

I'll be out of town Friday-Sunday, so won't be able to help during
that time period. Sorry.

Re: M6

I'm all for it, but am rather busy this weekend. So, I won't be able
to prepare the release artifacts. Someone else will have to serve as
release manager or push it off until the following weekend.
