[PATCH] for Bug 18471 missing attributes on mail (third try)

Here we go again (3 is a lucky number, right), a few clarifications on the
howto contribute page, would in my opinion not be wasted ;-)

This patch enhances the Mail interface and its implementation in
James, with the possibility to add attributes. This feature can be used to
make pr. Mail processing directives.
This patch is a fix for Bug 18471.
Migration from existing mail repositories are done on the fly, in the
readObject method, by checking the actual type of object deserialized.
A Hashmap for holding the attributes, has been chosen, as only
one Thread will have its hands on a Mail instance at the time.

RE: james-dev mail list archive stopped

Posted by "Noel J. Bergman" <no...@devtech.com>.
We know. There are a lot of archive lists that are currently not getting
processed. This has been discussed on the infrastructure mailing list.
Hopefully it will be resolved soon. There is also talk of setting up a news
server in parallel to the mailing list, which would allow both an
alternative means of access and archiving via NNTP.

It seems to me that the archiving of james lists are stopped on the
apache.org site. The most current entry in the archive was sent at about
March 16.

Great!!

I would like to have read (in addition to what is there) something like:
Produce the patch using 'cvs diff -u -w -b -rHEAD' against the checkout where
you have implementated the patch. Make sure the patch produced, only contains
what is intended (ie. your checkout could be outdated).
Submit the patch as an attachment to the mail describing the patch, this
attachment MUST be in either BASE64 or QuotedPrintable format.

Top stuff that, it worked.

Soren, if you could spend a few moments noting what *you* would have liked to have read I'd be happy to edit the docs.
It's better for you to write it, because the experience is fresh in your mind.
