[jira] [Created] (ISIS-1178) Mothball the TCK tests, with a view to replacing them by new tests in the isisaddons isis-app-kitchensink

Dan Haywood created ISIS-1178:
---------------------------------

Summary: Mothball the TCK tests, with a view to replacing them by new tests in the isisaddons isis-app-kitchensink
                 Key: ISIS-1178
                 URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/ISIS-1178
             Project: Isis
          Issue Type: Task
          Components: Core
    Affects Versions: core-1.8.0
            Reporter: Dan Haywood
            Assignee: Dan Haywood
            Priority: Minor
             Fix For: 1.9.0

The TCK tests have been excluded for a while (perhaps in 1.8.0, certainly 1.9.0-SNAPSHOT) because they are too fragile to maintain.

Part of the reason for that is that they use the old in-memory object store.

Having them in the codebase is confusing because there's an expectation that they will pass, eg: this message to http://markmail.org/message/qi23ssz63m7rr57t.

Instead, we should start to rewrite the TCK usingthe isis-app-kitchensink (part of Isis addons).
