Re: Getting started with contribution

Hi..

First of all thanks a lot for your kind response.
I have few more concerns. Please help me to clarify them :)

I went through the Beam documentation especially programming guide. It has
mentioned that beam is to run data processing pipeline tasks in distributed
environment.
So do we have to use something like Apache Storm or something in order to
test our code.

It would be much helpful if you can give me some guidelines how to setup my
environment for development and testing purposes.

Hi Minudika,

  There is a DirectRunner provided, which allows you to run your pipeline
on local machine.  See "this"
<https://github.com/apache/incubator-beam/blob/master/examples/java/README.md>
on how to run examples. I would recommend trying this out first before you
setup any cluster.
