RE: [users@httpd] Re: How to solve this descriptor problem on solaris 8 and apache 1.3.33

Hallo Matthew,

in the /etc/system I set:
set rlim_fd_max = 8192
* set soft limit on file descriptors
set rlim_fd_cur = 4096

ulimit -a as root shows:
time(seconds) unlimited
file(blocks) unlimited
data(kbytes) unlimited
stack(kbytes) 8192
coredump(blocks) unlimited
nofiles(descriptors) 1024
memory(kbytes) unlimited

ulimit -a as web server process owner shows:
time(seconds) 600
file(blocks) unlimited
data(kbytes) 1000000
stack(kbytes) 8192
coredump(blocks) 0
nofiles(descriptors) 2268
memory(kbytes) 1000000

Any comments?

I beleave that the fd_setsize compiler parameter should solve the problem.

regards
	Harald
