SSL_EXPERIMENTAL_ENGINE outdated already?

It sure seems like SSL_EXPERIMENTAL_ENGINE is past it's prime.
If you look at the behavior of the module, nothing changes unless you
use the SSLEngine directive.

Doesn't it make sense to simply introduce the test for
AC_CHECK_FUNC(ENGINE_init) and refer to HAVE_ENGINE_INIT 
instead of the 'EXPERIMENTAL' flag at this point?

Certainly, engines are not experimental any longer.
