> Upgrade to JDK 17

> Key: SIS-392
> URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/SIS-392
> Project: Spatial Information Systems
> Issue Type: Task
> Components: Build process, Command line, Features, Geometry, GUI, Metadata, OpenOffice, Referencing, Shapefile, Storage, Utilities, Web services

> Switch the development branch from Java 8 to Java 9. Trunk will stay in JDK 8. The intent is to start making sure that SIS is compatible with JDK 9 regarding modularisation and also to prepare fixes for some bugs that depend on JDK 9 (see linked issue). The official SIS release however will stay in Java 8 for some time.
