--- Comment #5 from Emma Armstrong <em...@hotmail.com> ---
I reproduced this issue on mac os x with version 10.8.5 (with a 2.5 GHz Intel
Core i5) with Open Office version 4.1.1

Steps
1. Download the attached file (.zip containing the PowerPoint 2007 .ppt file
and the linked .wav file )
2. Open the file in Open Office version 4.1.1 using File – Open and
selecting the file.
3. Click on the audio symbol
This was not treated as an audio file and you could not play it. When you
clicked on it the bottom status said ‘Bitmap with transparency ‘dia 1 lez
12.wav’ selected’ rather then ‘Media object selected’ as I would have expected.

I also opened the file in Microsoft PowerPoint for Mac 2011 Version 14.4.2
(140509) and clicked on the audio symbol on the slide and the sound was played
without error.

I further checked whether a presentation containing an audio file created in
Impress could be reopened in Impress and opened in Powerpoint and the audio be
played without issue.. See attachment.
Steps
1. Download attachment (keep the ppt and .wav file collocated)
2. Open .ppt attachment in Impress
3. Click on the audio symbol - The sound plays without issue.
4. Open the attachment in Microsoft Powerpoint
5. Click on the audio symbol - The sound plays without issue.

All versions of tools were English UK versions

This issue seems to be similar to issue 49295 however I opened both the
attachments on issue 49295 in Impress and the audio files played without issue
when in slideshow mode.
