Yes, I was thinking of openJPA.

Do you know if memcache is also supported?

Thanks so much.

it depends what you wanted to cache...
For the persistence framework used by geronimo OpenJPA
I would recommend EHcache
http://ehcache.org/documentation/integrations/openjpa-provider

http://ehcache.org/downloads/destination?name=ehcache-openjpa-0.2.0-distribution.tar.gz&bucket=tcdistributions&file=ehcache-openjpa-0.2.0-distribution.tar.gz

For clustering you cann use
the geronimo caching framework
https://cwiki.apache.org/GMOxDEV/caching.html
https://cwiki.apache.org/GMOxDEV/geronimo-clustering-with-gcache.html
