@Alexei: I do not agree, German did make a video-components branch that we would like to merge to trunk.
If we have no history and start from scratch there is nothing to merge and you can manually compare 700 files.

Its better he commits to the old SVN and if things are missing in the new one because the Snapshot from Apache Infra guys was earlier you get the diff and re-commit it.
