New committer: Alessandro Benedetti
The Project Management Committee (PMC) for Apache ManifoldCF
has asked Alessandro Benedetti to become a committer and we are pleased
to announce that they have accepted.
Alessandro has been active in using ManifoldCF to integrate
clients with Apache Solr over several years.
Being a committer enables easier contribution to the
project since there is no need to go via the patch
submission process. This should enable better productivity.

It's a pleasure for me to join this community and I will do my best to let
us grow!
Only to give a quick introduction of myself :
I'm working as a Search Consultant and R&D Engineer in Zaizi London.
My passion is in R&D on information retrieval, NLP, and machine learning
with an emphasis on data structures, algorithms, and probability theory.
My background in two words :
- Information extraction from web sites
- Machine Learning systems related to improve the semantic enrichment of
information
- Search technologies ( mainly Solr) as a consultant and developer
- Semantic technologies and their impact on Search
I started to work with ManifoldCF as soon as I realised how much important
was to have a configurable advanced indexer for Solr and since that moment
I have played with it a lot.
I love challenges and I can not stop until I find a solution for what I
have in my mind at that moment :)
