apr and execve

Is it possible for apr to provide the equivalent behaviour of a call to
execve()?

The only solution I can think of now is for the application to call
apr_proc_create and then immediately exit(). However, this could lead
to race conditions, depending on whether the exit() cleans up all the
sockets and things before the new process needs them.

Regards,

Daniel
