I didn't see this discussion before adding the link to Java 6. Feel free to change the link to a prior version. However I agree with Benjamin, linking the documentation to the latest JDK is better.

We used to link to them. The problem is that we can't just go linking to Java 6. I don't think there is a single component that depends on Java 6. Others depend on anything from Java 1.2 to 1.5, so it needs to be done per component.

SVN 1023356. Added a java api link POM property that is configured in the javadoc plugin. Components are free to override the property to link other Java versions.
