[jira] [Commented] (TIKA-3198) extracting ppt with chart give excel in which data is missing

    [ https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/TIKA-3198?page=com.atlassian.jira.plugin.system.issuetabpanels:comment-tabpanel&focusedCommentId=17197731#comment-17197731 ]

Tim Allison commented on TIKA-3198:
-----------------------------------

Thank you for opening this. I have to dig into it a bit more, but my memory is that we should now identify the embedded charts as charts, but parsing them would require a whole new parser, which is, obj, non-trivial.

I know that we're extracting chart data from ooxml, but that's irrelevant to this problem.

Let me take a look and see if my memory is correct.

> Extracting ppt gives .emf and .excel.
> .excel file has not data in it. But viewing the ppt we are able see that chart data.
