[jira] [Comment Edited] (ARROW-12897) [Packaging] The patch version
was lost in the 4.0.1 release process

Jonathan Keane edited comment on ARROW-12897 at 5/27/21, 7:46 PM:
------------------------------------------------------------------
It looks like there are three commits on the -rc branch that aren't in the 4.0.1 branch: https://github.com/apache/arrow/compare/release-4.0.1...release-4.0.1-rc1
And the comparable ones are in the 4.0.0 branch: https://github.com/apache/arrow/commits/release-4.0.0
Can we "just" apply those three commits from release-4.0.1-rc1 to release-4.0.1?

> I'm not exactly sure what happened, the rc1 _has_ 4.0.1 in the relevant places: https://github.com/apache/arrow/blob/release-4.0.1-rc1/r/DESCRIPTION#L3
> but the release branch does not seem to have it:
