[jira] [Created] (MINIFICPP-2215) Ensure that unicode file paths work correctly
Marton Szasz created MINIFICPP-2215:
---------------------------------------
Summary: Ensure that unicode file paths work correctly
Key: MINIFICPP-2215
URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/MINIFICPP-2215
Project: Apache NiFi MiNiFi C++
Issue Type: Task
Reporter: Marton Szasz
In most parts of the code, we're assuming that strings are UTF-8 encoded. However, std::filesystem::path doesn't do encoding conversion, and it expects the input string's encoding to match the filesystem encoding. This is probably not a problem on Linux, but it may be a problem on Windows.
We should check whether this is a problem in any filesystem operations, and construct `std::filesystem::path` objects from strings of char8_t to opt in to automatic conversion from UTF-8 to the filesystem encoding.
