[jira] [Commented] (UIMA-2128) Support to for gzipped XMI files
[ https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/UIMA-2128?page=com.atlassian.jira.plugin.system.issuetabpanels:comment-tabpanel&focusedCommentId=13020970#comment-13020970 ]
Jörn Kottmann commented on UIMA-2128:
-------------------------------------
In my opinion that should be discussed for the framework. We could decide to support some compressed xmi format. The compression could be independent for the feature structures and the sofa. e.g. you might want to compress a text sofa but not an image or audio sofa.
Another option which might help you could be support for a special zip package which contains xmi files with one type system.

> Since XMI files tend to grow rather rapidly, it would be great if the CAS Editor supported to read and write gzipped XMI files (.xmi.gz).
