[jira] [Created] (HDFS-11269) Exclude the parity blocks when caching an erasure coding file

Wei Zhou created HDFS-11269:
-------------------------------

Summary: Exclude the parity blocks when caching an erasure coding file
                 Key: HDFS-11269
                 URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/HDFS-11269
             Project: Hadoop HDFS
          Issue Type: Improvement
            Reporter: Wei Zhou
            Assignee: Wei Zhou

When using HDFS Cache to cache an EC file, all the blocks will be cached including the parity blocks, but in fact, there are no need to cache such blocks at all.
