## Description:
The mission of Apache SkyWalking is the creation and maintenance of software
related to application performance management and monitoring (APM)

## Project Status:
No issue.

## Membership Data:
Apache SkyWalking was founded 2019-04-17 (4 years ago)
There are currently 57 committers and 33 PMC members in this project.
The Committer-to-PMC ratio is roughly 5:3.

Community changes, past quarter:
- No new PMC members. Last addition was Yihao Chen on 2023-02-22.
- Qiang Xu was added as committer on 2023-06-17
- Gong Dewei was added as committer on 2023-06-30

## Project Activity:
A dozen of releases are out in this quarter.

The community is being involved in GSoC and OSPP(Open Source Promotion Program)
for this summer. 10 tasks are mentored by the committer team.

The Java agent is bumping up the version series to 9.x. 8.16 would be the
last v8 release. 9.x will be highly compatible with 8.x and share most
behaviors. The new version highlights some kernel level changes, which
didn't happen for years.

## Community Health:
The project is active and healthy.
Code traffic decreased as 9.5.0 is out. And the v9 series is becoming stable.
The bug trend is convergence. So, traffic of issues are not low too.
