RE: cvs commit: maven/src/plugins-build/eclipse project.xml

Posted by Vincent Massol <vm...@pivolis.com>.
Yes, it means I am the originator of it (i.e the idea and the first
implementation). The current version has exactly the same idea as on day
one. It is simply more elaborate. In any case, being the original
creator is something that stays whatever the product becomes
afterwards...

Cactus is no longer what it was 3 years back. Does it mean I am not the
creator? Jason is the creator of Maven (along with a few others - You
certainly are one of the early creators - Can't remember the full
story). Maven is now very different from what it was 1.5 years back.
Jason will always remain the original creator of it (Sorry about those I
forget, I'm just making a point here :-)).

I also think it's always useful to know who was the creator of something
as you can always refer to that person to get more insight knowledge,
help, directions, etc.

I'd be happy to see more "creators" of the other plugins named.
Actually, it would be good if we could have standard roles defined, such
as:

- Creator (I prefer that over "Architect". I find it more confusing as
the architecture can change over time)
- Developer (Not sure we need a "Documenter" role)
- Release Manager/Current Lead

Any other useful role?

Thanks
-Vincent

Does 'creator' mean anything special??

The eclipse plugin is nothing like it originally was when created.
